UNMATCHED CLINICAL TECHNIQUE, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPASSION

Hysterosalpingograms From the Comfort of Our Office.

For our patients, the setting and environment, can make a significant difference in how a patient experiences certain testing. To that end, Blue Sky Fertility is pleased to offer fallopian tube (and uterine) testing (often known as a HSG, or hysterosalpingogram) from the convenience of our office.

Advanced X-Ray Testing
Now Available In Our Office

About 25% of infertility is caused by a problem with the fallopian tubes, often as a result of endometriosis, infection, or prior fallopian tube surgery; thus evaluation of the fallopian tubes and their patency is often an important part of early fertility testing.

Blue Sky Fertility is pleased to offer fallopian tube & uterine testing (often known as a hysterosalpingogram, or HSG) in the comfort and convenience of our Overland Park office.

This test uses x-rays and a special dye to assess the uterine cavity and the fallopian tubes. During the procedure, dye is inserted into the uterus and dye is visualized in the uterus and fallopian tubes.

Blue Sky’s HSG test is performed by our experienced and compassionate staff -

We know this test can be uncomfortable and we feel our experience, specialized technique and clinical knowledge of your individual circumstances can alleviate patient discomfort as well as anxiety.

We have also found that our expertise often facilitates a shorter exam time: most patients spend about 30 minutes at our facility for the HSG test.

Finally, in most cases, your results are available immediately available after your test.

What to expect:

  1. An HSG will be scheduled through the BSF office usually on menstrual cycle day 5-12 unless you are taking oral contraceptives.

  2. During the procedure, a thin tube (“catheter”) is threaded through the vagina and cervix.

  3. A substance known as contrast material is injected into the uterus and the fallopian tubes and X-ray images are obtained.

  4. We recommend that you administer 600 mg of ibuprofen (unless allergic) about 1 hour prior to the procedure as most patients experience mild to moderate cramping.

  5. Click here for additional useful information about HSG from ASRM.
