Qualifications of an Egg Donor

Blue Sky Egg Donation conducts an intensive and thorough screening process before a woman is able to join our egg donor program. These egg donor requirements are necessary to ensure a positive experience, for you, the client, and the pending healthy baby. These are the guidelines set forth by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Part of the egg donor qualification process. requires Blue Sky to ask very specific questions about your health history, sexual history, and other health related activities as per the FDA.

To be a Blue Sky Donor, you must:

• A female between the ages of 21 and 30 years old
• In good health, physically and emotionally
• You have a BMI between 19 and 30
• Have not smoked cigarettes in the past 12 months
• Have regular monthly menstrual cycles
• Be willing to undergo a medical and psychological evaluation
• Be available for approximately 5 -10 appointments

How many times can I donate my eggs?

To ensure your health and safety, BSF follows the American Society for Reproductive Medicine’s (ASRM) guidelines for egg donation, recommending that women only donate up to six times in their lifetime.

What disqualifies a potential egg donor?

Potential candidates can be disqualified from being an egg donor for several reasons, including lifestyle habits, usage of certain types of contraception, and the inability to commit to the schedule.

Is there an age limit for egg donation?

Egg quality and quantity can diminish as women reach their mid 30s, to ensure we are providing the most viable eggs possible, Blue Sky egg donors should be no older than 29. BSF is laser focused on increasing our clients chances of having a successful pregnancy, so we insist on using only the healthiest and most viable eggs.
